In an effort to call Windows more safe than competitors, Steve Ballmer abuses the numbers.
"The first 150 days of Red Hat 6, go check the number, just go check the number. It's five to ten times higher than what we are showing," Ballmer said. Go check the number, well, here we go.
1.
Red Hat 6.0 is four years old and replaced by Red Hat 9. Windows 2003 is brand new. Windows NT, that is as old as Red Hat 6.0, contained twice as many holes as Red Hat.

The number of holes does not tell anything about their severety.
3.
Red Hat comes on three cdroms packed with free software. Windows contains a lot less software. For Windows, you have to buy all that software separately, and it's not taken into the comparison.
