Waiting for saint Nicholas

Every year on december 5, the Dutch celebrate saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas), patron saint of children and sailors. The good saint comes evey year in november from his residence in Spain on a steamboat, accompanied by Black Pete (Zwarte Piet), his naughty assistant. These families are waiting to see the Sint arrive in Amsterdam.
